The Wehype platform: How our creator campaigns run

We built our platform to run our own campaigns, and we still do. It matches creators on our data, pays them in 3 banking days and shows you results while the campaign is live.

Gustaf Smith

Co-founder, Wehype

The Wehype platform is the software our campaign team built to run creator campaigns for games, and uses every day. It matches creators on our own campaign data, puts offers inside Twitch, handles contracts and payments, checks every delivery and shows results live. In 2025, 2,700+ unique creators delivered 8,600,000+ hours of sponsored watch time on it.

This page is the platform from the publisher’s side: what it does, how a campaign runs on it and where software stops being useful. If you’re comparing tools from several companies, read our list of top gaming influencer marketing platforms instead.

What the Wehype platform does

Many discovery tools stop at the database. You search, export a list, then do the actual work in email and spreadsheets. We built the Wehype platform the other way around, because our own campaign team needed it to run hundreds of creators at once.

The platform covers the whole campaign. It matches creators to your game, sends contracts, pays creators, checks every delivery and reports results while the campaign is live. Our team uses it every day, which is why it keeps changing. We launched our first Twitch campaign dashboard in 2019. Today, as an official Twitch partner, Wehype campaigns show up inside the Twitch Sponsorship Dashboard itself.

How a campaign runs on the Wehype platform

  1. Strategize. Our team turns your brief into a campaign plan, with the budget split by market and the numbers we’ll measure, like CCV, viewer minutes and cost per hour.
  2. Match. The platform suggests creators who fit your game and estimates the views they can bring.
  3. Execute. Contracts, payments, delivery and validation run through the platform, managed by our campaign team.
  4. Measure. You see live data while the campaign runs and get a report after it ends.

Matching on our own data

Matching is where most creator marketing budgets get won or lost. Our matching uses our own data from years of campaigns: what creators play, where their viewers are, how long those viewers stay and how each creator performed the last time they worked with us.

That last part is the one nobody else has. A creator who held their audience through a sponsored strategy stream last year is a better bet than a bigger channel we’ve never seen play one. For the Dying Light 2 Dying 2 Know finale, our matching picked 349 creators, and the platform contracted, briefed and monitored all of them for a single hour window. Read the Dying Light 2 case.

How we pick creators who fit your game

The platform finds the shortlist, and the same checks work if you’re searching for creators yourself. Here’s what we look at, in roughly this order.

What they play

Start with the games a creator streams when nobody pays them. A creator who plays every grand strategy release on launch day is your strategy audience. A variety streamer who tried one strategy game in 2022 is not.

Whether viewers stay

Average concurrent viewers over a full stream tell you more than a peak. A channel that holds its audience for three hours of a slow game is rare and valuable. Watch a few streams from start to end before you trust any number.

Where viewers live and what they speak

A great German creator won’t sell your game in France. For GeoGuessr we ran separate micro creator campaigns for Italy and France, with creators who speak to those audiences in their own language. See the GeoGuessr case.

Size last

Bigger creators bring awareness. Smaller creators often bring conversions, and you can afford more of them. Our Guild Wars 2 campaign used both on purpose: larger creators for awareness, smaller ones for conversions. Follower counts are a snapshot, and they overlap between creators, so adding them up tells you very little.

Fit, which only humans check

Data finds the shortlist. Then a Hyper watches the streams, because tone and brand safety don’t show up in a spreadsheet. You can’t market what you don’t play, and you can’t pick creators you haven’t watched.

Twitch Integration: Creators opt in

Twitch Integration is the newest part of the platform. Your campaign appears in the Twitch Sponsorship Dashboard of every creator who matches your targeting: viewership, country, games they’ve played and brand safety checks. Creators read the brief and opt in with a couple of clicks. There’s nothing to install and no one by one negotiation.

This changes who you can reach. Nano and micro creators were always too expensive to contract one at a time. Now hundreds of them can stream your game in release week. Our first live campaign inside Twitch was EA’s Battlefield 6. More in Twitch campaigns and Steam and micro creators.

Contracts, payments and delivery checks

Gaming creator campaign management is mostly the boring stuff, and we handle it. Briefings, contracts and negotiations run through the platform, and it validates every delivery against the contract.

Creators get paid in 3 banking days. That sounds like a creator perk, and it is, but it’s also why your offer gets a yes. Creators remember who pays fast. It also lets us move quickly: we’ve launched campaigns in as little as 2 days.

Live reporting

You don’t wait for a PDF. While the campaign runs, you see live data per creator, like viewer minutes and concurrent viewers, and after it ends you get a full report. We watch the same numbers and adjust as we go. If a concept underperforms, we change it before the budget is gone.

For Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, that meant 72 creators across the UK, France and Germany, over three phases: launch, the Nuketown update and Season 1. Read the Black Ops 6 case, and how we measure ROI for which numbers we report and why.

Community Insights: Your creators over time

Campaigns end. Your creator community doesn’t. Community Insights tracks your game’s creator community on Twitch and sorts it by lifecycle stage:

  • New: just picked up your game. The best moment to offer them something.
  • Active: streaming it regularly. Keep them happy.
  • At risk: streaming it less. Act before they stop.
  • Churned: stopped. A list for your next big update.

Filter by region, platform, game version or stage, whether you work with 50 creators or 5,000. Pair it with Community Rewards or Creator Codes and you can act on what you see right away. More on that in creator programs.

Platform, team or both

The honest answer is that a platform alone won’t make your campaign good. It makes the right campaign faster and cheaper to run. Most of our partners use our team for the plan and the creator calls, and the Wehype platform for everything that repeats. Some run their own programs on parts of it.

If you’re still choosing between providers, our ranking of gaming influencer marketing platforms compares Wehype with five others using facts from their own sites. Start at the hub if you want the full picture, or browse the stories to see the platform at work.

Questions we get

How do I find gaming creators for my game?

Start with what creators actually play, then look at how long their viewers stay and where those viewers live. Follower counts come last.

Our platform does that matching on our own campaign data, and with Twitch Integration creators who fit your targeting can find your campaign themselves.

Can I use the platform without the Wehype team?

Parts of it. Some partners plug Twitch Integration or Creator Codes into their own creator program. Most use a mix: our team plans and runs the campaign, and the platform handles matching, contracts, payments, delivery checks and reporting.

Which creators can see a Twitch Integration campaign?

The ones you target. You can filter on viewership, country and the games a creator has played, plus brand safety checks. Creators see the offer in their Twitch dashboard and opt in themselves. There's nothing for them to install.

How fast are creators paid?

In 3 banking days, through the Wehype platform. Fast payment is one reason creators say yes when your campaign shows up.

What does Community Insights show?

Your game's creator community, sorted by lifecycle stage: new, active, at risk or churned. You can filter by region, platform, game version or stage, whether you have 50 creators or 5,000.

How quickly can a campaign go live on the platform?

We've launched campaigns in as little as 2 days. Longer lead time gives us room to test concepts small before scaling the winner.
